Traditional Wedding Feature: Dancer, Jen Ngozi performs at her Igbankwu!

Hello Jen, Please tell us a little about you both and your love story

I’m a proud Naija girl and Dance Choreographer based in the US (California and Washington, DC). My husband and I met at Church through mutual friends. And we were both students at the time. We soon became study buddies!

Our love story is honestly a testament of what it looks like when you surrender to God’s Will for your life. Our union was a result of what happened when we ‘let go and let God.’

… Hubby and I couldn’t be more opposite… He’s the quiet reserved type (and very private), and let’s just say I know how to put on one hell of a show 😉 lol.

Haha, we can tell. What was the turning point in your relationship?

After we met, he moved away and we became Penpals. During our time apart, it became clear that God might be calling us to be more than just ‘buddies,’ as we once called it. Before we knew it we went from ‘penpals’ to ‘buddies’ to ‘married.’ To God be the glory!

How did he propose?

My husband proposed in New York City on a boat ride to the Statue of Liberty. It was honestly the best day of my life..Ever!! :-)

So romantic… Where did you have your traditional wedding?

My husband and I went home to Imo State, Nigeria to do our Traditional Wedding this month.

Favourite part of the day?

As a Dancer, it really was a dream come true to be able to perform for my husband and family at our wedding. The videos are coming very soon and I’d be happy to share those as well!

We can’t wait to see the videos Jen! You can catch up with Jen Ngozi and see her dance videos on Instagram: @jenngozi.inc
