Comfort food season (noun): The period of late fall through winter in which it’s so cold outside that your face hurts, it gets dark at 5 p.m., and all you want to do is cozy up with a warm dish of some nostalgic recipe.
Don’t go into comfort food season unprepared. The Instant Pot is the ultimate comfort food sidekick and can tackle just about every recipe you can throw at it: That glorious potato soup that usually takes hours in the slow cooker? Instant Pot gets it done in 10 minutes. Not at home for Thanksgiving? Instant Pot’s roast function can make you the perfect golden brown eight-pound turkey breast. Your favorite plant-based spot might not have a pumpkin pie yogurt bowl, but the Instant Pot’s yogurt function can save the day.
No reason to wait until Prime Day or Black Friday to grab one of these best sellers — multiple Instant Pot models are currently on sale at Amazon, saving you up to $40.
For a while, the Ninja Foodi held a slight lead over Instant Pot’s army with one secret weapon: an air fryer built into a pressure cooker. The Duo Crisp changed that. This 11-in-1 cooker operates like most other Instant Pots, but has two different, 100% detachable lids that can be swapped based on function. Air fry, roast, bake, broil, and dehydrate use the air fryer lid (this is indicated on the pot’s display) and everything else gets the regular lid.
The newer, prettier version of last year’s Amazon top seller on Black Friday, the Instant Pot Duo Nova is almost guaranteed to be *the* model that retailers tout in their Black Friday ads. At $59.99, this sale price is just $5 above its lowest price ever on Amazon.
Everything that you know and love about the original Duo is still here: The organized display with straightforward buttons and the same seven cooking methods (it’s the cheapest model to have a yogurt maker). The lid’s new automatic pressure sealing will be a godsend for any Instant Pot owner who’s accidentally left the valve on “venting” instead of “sealing.” A blue LCD screen is also a nice touch.
Instant Pot 9-in-1 Duo Evo Plus (6-quart) — $99.99 (save $20)
The Instant Pot Ultra has unofficially been dubbed the model with the best bang for your buck. The Duo Evo Plus can be thought of as the Ultra’s successor, adding a lid that’s equipped with QuickCool technology (to release pressure naturally up to 50% faster). A few new buttons for cooking techniques — poultry and sous vide — are also on the Duo Evo Plus lineup. The Ultra’s fancy blue LCD screen and steel knob were too iconic to scrap, so the Evo Plus just made them a little bigger and easier to see.
