3 Tips for Instagram Story Hashtags

Hashtags are a #beast, don’t you agree, boo boo?

>>Who would’ve thought that a tiny pound sign could open a door to being discovered on social media?! #mindblown<<

Hashtags can be used #anytime and #anywhere…like in this blog post. #sorrynotsorry

But for the sake of simplicity, let’s chat about three tips for using hashtags solely in Instagram Stories, shall we?

#ViewinghashtagsonIGstories

If you’re viewing a story and click on a hashtag, you’re taken to the photo feed of the hashtag. If you’d like to view the stories including that hashtag, simply click on the stories feature in the top left corner of the page for that particular hashtag.

#HidinghashtagsonIGstories

Don’t worry, this isn’t #shady…unlike tagging someone in stories and then hiding the tags. When you hide hashtags, you’re inserting yourself into the social conversation without throwing shade.

If you want to appear in a stories hashtag but don’t want to show the hashtag you’re using, all you have to do is list the hashtags, make them smaller, and then cover them with a GIF!

Bonus points if you create your own GIF! Find out how >>HERE!<< Or you could use one of my NEW GIFs! Find them by searching #jasminestar

#LimitofhashtagsonIGstories

>>Unlike Instagram posts that have a limit of 30 hashtags, stories have a limit of 10 hashtags each.<<

If you’re wanting to remain consistent across a series of stories, you can choose to keep the same 10 hashtags throughout, but you can also switch it up and use different hashtags for each story slide, ya feel me? #youdoyou

I’m not sure if there’s a limit to hashtags in a blog post, but I’m pretty sure I’ve almost reached it. #overkill
Buttercup, I hope these three Instagram story hashtag tips helped you! If you have other hashtag tips you’d like to share, I’d LOVE to hear them! Feel free to DM me on Instagram and #hitagirlup!
